Candlestick Park is gone and plans have been announced to build one of the largest urban mixed-use projects in the nation at the site adjacent to Candlestick Point State Recreation Area. Some 500,000 square feet of development will include a large retail center, hotel, cinemas, performance venue, restaurants, parks and 6,000 new homes.
